{Rainy Day Hot Chocolates}

Today is a rainy and cold day in Sydney-town. So, I decided to air pop some corn and make my boys a treat while they watch a movie.
Here is a fun take on hot chocolates that we use for special occasions around here:

Spread Nutella around the rim of the glasses with a pastry brush if your fancy, or just wash your hands and use thumb and pointer fingers. Dip rim into sprinkles and then add hot chocolate into glass and serve.

My boys love this and it always lifts spirits on a dreary cold day!

{Summer's A Comin'}

Over the last few months I have been feeling quite tired. I had no exact reason to, either. I wasn't sick.I wasn't pregnant (although I did check). I wasn't sleeping horrendously. I was just not making it through to the end of the day without the 3pm feeling of needing a nanna nap. Which doesn't fit into the school pick-up schedule at all.
I normally eat my main meals very healthy. But I am not regularly exercising.
Then it clicked!

{Wheat Bran Muffins}

I bought a packet of wheat bran in a recent grocery shop but didn't know what to do with it. I set myself an assignment to make some sort of healthy muffins for school lunches. It annoys me how so many muffin recipes may as well be cupcakes with their sugar content. Are we just trying to avoid guilt by re-naming it...I'm not buying into it. These were healthy enough that you could even use it as part of an on-the-go breakfast I reckon.

I tried this recipe and it was met with much delight by my boys. They practically inhaled them for a rainy afternoon tea treat. They have been requested again since. So, I adapted a few different recipes to come up with this one.

Here is the recipe that you can customise to your tastes. Ours were banana flavoured which is always a favourite in our house.

{Stuff the Baskets : Organising Your Life}

If you live in a 2 story house like I do you may have this problem. During a day of housework, I find things that belong in the respective studies / bedrooms upstairs, but doing 100 trips back and forth doesn't seem efficient. So I usually dedicate a step per person and pile things up. Then things usually trickle back upstairs but it is just plain messy!

So I've been on the hunt for a solution and found these baskets at Kmart for $10. The idea is at the end of the day when we are cleaning up, the bits place all their things downstairs in their basket and then take it with them to put away before bed.

These just look gorgeous and are a pretty solution to a messy problem. Plus, of there is something in your basket, it's easy to tell its yours, regardless of your a young child or a grown man I mean person lol!

{Pinterest Baking : Apple Pies & 'Ice-Cream' Cupcakes}

We were going to a friends house for dinner and I offered to do dessert so I headed to the "dessert board" on my pinterest profile and searched for something healthy but that looked delicious.

So, I made apple pies for the grown ups and cupcake 'ice-creams' for the kids.
