Vintage Sewing History Made My Day :)

This year I finally fulfilled my new years resolution (that I have made for about 5 years now) and took the plunge to learn to sew. I hadn't ever had much exposure to it and I have loved adding this to another avenue to express myself. Today I inherited two items that are very special to me!

As my grandfather has had an operation recently, I went for a trip with my boys and my Mum to see my Amazing Grandparents to see how they were and I bought some of my recent sewing projects to show and tell (I can't show all of them on here yet ;).

When I told Grandma that I would love to get my own machine one day (soon - hopefully) she offered me to 'permanently loan' her old machine. I had never seen it and then she bought it out for me to see. I was quite taken by the solid timber case, but my heart fluttered when she lifted the lid. It was a vintage black, sleek Singer machine. I was flawed and fell in love!!!



It still has a lot of origional feet and paper work in their boxes too. I have to do some googling to figure it out. If I can't figure it out, I may just take it to my sewing group on Thursday and ask the many 100's of years of combined sewing experience!


Then, when I got home, I was getting something from the garage and came across an empty old wooden sewing box. As this house we are in (as some may know) is my husbands grandmothers house, I asked my mother-in-law if she who's it was. She said it was her mothers and that I am welcome to use it. It has lots of space to put all the little things that I have been collecting over the past year or so ;)




So now I have two items that on top of their inherit beauty, hold sentimental value coming from grandmothers on mine and my husbands side.

Now I can't wait to set up my new craft room/ study in our new place in about 5 weeks and get everything orgasnised!!!! YAY!

FEATURE ::: "Stamping with Tenille"

Well, I am a person that loves to be creative. I love it whether it is in the form of paper craft, card making, scrapbooking, sewing, cooking etc...This often means that I have so many projects I want to do.
I am not sure how long ago, but I held a Stampin' Up party and invited a few ladies around. I LOVE their stuff, and the great thing about card making is, you don't have to commit to the labour of big album projects, and can do a card at a time. I invited my cousin (in-law lol) Tenille and she took to it like a duck to water so-to-speak. I hope her husband thinks it's a good thing I unleashed this creative gene in her :P
Since then, she has just blossomed into quite the card making expert. I love the variety of her work and the difefrent techniques she uses. She has actually just signed up as a Stampin' up demonstrator too. So pop over and take a look at her work.
I can't wait till we are settled into our new place and have the move sorted, then I think I might just lock myself in the craft room for a while ;) Enjoy;

Lego Storage with a difference!

Many of you may have heard from me before about the amazing things I have found on Boys Germs, a website about all things boys!
Well this time, they listed something that took my eye (as usual) and couldn't wait to share it.

LEGO have released this awesome concept to store lego. GIANT lego blocks that connect together. So far I have only found them available from a store in the UK (which ships to parts of Europe, but no Aussie stockists/ delivery YET).


But I think I will keep my eyes peeled so to speak, as these would be so much fun for kids and I have a feeling they will be available here soon (I hope)!

Music Monday - New Tunes by Andrew Belle

Well, I have been a little slow on the posting front of late. It is all because I have 2 BIG craft projects I am working on (which I can't wait to share later) but it is taking up a lot of my 'free' time.

Today I wanted to share an Artist that my husband and I have been listening too for the last couple of weeks. His name is Andrew Belle and I love his sound. It's reminds me a bit of The Fray, ColdPlay etc....
I started listening to the music and thought there was one particular song "Make it without you" that would be in an awesome soudntrack to a TV show or a movie playing in a pivitol scene. Then when 'youtubing' to find a clip to put on here, I found out that that song was on an episode of Grey's (which is probably where I got the idea from in the first place - lol).
