Who needs a living room?

I found this link on twitter through a retweet and was GOBSMACKED!!!! My boys would LOVE LOVE LOVE this to play with. Even if I could afford this incredible set up, I would need a spare room to put this baby (which they'd grow out of in a few years). BUT fun to dream right?!?!?

Chalkboards

Unusual and quirky interior design/ decorating fascinates me. I found these pictures and had to share cause I thought it was a cool idea. The idea of having a chalkboard in a kitchen, especially a wall sized one captured my attention! How awesome would that be!

Product Reviews ::: Interior Decorating for Kids

I have been a bit obsessed with interior design ideas for the boys bedrooms and the playroom in the new house (about 4 months to go - excited much?!?!!?). I have found some really cool ideas and I wanted to share some of therm with you. I will try to include some girls things too, but I am naturally drawn to the boys things obviously!

I love Supprting Aussie Buisness....So, check out Mini Me Designs (an awesome QLD based company) on the web and on facebook for some delightful canvases/ plaques. I just love their animal images - gorgeous!!!

You can find Designer Mum here and find some wonderful 'kid style'

They put together some decorator packs which is a cool idea....
....but my pick from this website is the birth details plaque that is a nice, neat modern way of displaying the moment your precious bundle came into the world!!! LOVE it!!

If you love buying product online from Australian Small buisnesses that are run by Working at home parents, then a wonderful directory of all things including decorating supplies can be found here at Support A Working At Home Parent network (Support a WAHP). They have a website with a directory and a facebook page too.

EYE CANDY ;)

A part of me (okay okay - a fairly BIG part) just loves it when things are colour codes, symetrical, and ordered just 'so'. I also love entertaining, A LOT! So, when I stumbled across Amy Atlas who designs dessert tables, Ifell in LOVE!!!!
OH my - the detail, the colour combinations, the labels, the desserts, the glass jars and the fact that you could very easily tell if something is out of place by the very order of the arrangements! It definitley was complete eye candy for me (and even though I don't have her budget or staff) she inspires me when I put on an even at my place to pay attention to the details and go that extra mile!

Sorry for all the photos, but i really want you to capture the essence of her variety. WOW!

Displaying Children's Art

I am sure I am not the only parent that ends up with so many origional, one off art-works from the kids! So i have started filing them in display folders labelling the dates/ and any notes on them so they pack away nicley. However I do enjoy showing some of it off, but being a modern neat freak, the idea of endless scrap paper with a mish mash of designs covering EVERY wall makes me cringe a little. Then I cam across this genious idea from Sarah
Jane's blog entitled "making an art gallery".
What a great idea!!! She did some finger painting art and then bought a few ikea frames and created an art gallery to display it with a difference.

There are two different ways you could do this that I see:

1. You could cut out the shape/ animal/ design from the dry painting and glue it on backing board.
2. Go to a framing or scrapbooking type place and get them to di-cut the shape into the monuting board and place over the full painting giving similar effect.

Either way - I love the unique and classy way she found to store and showcase some special paintings. Definitley trying this one!

Colour codes, baskets and labels - OH MY!!!

There are MANY things that make me happy. Those that know me well know that one of these things is when my world is all in order. By order I mean colour codes, height/ size order, labels, baskets and containers! It does something to me in a funny way when I see things ordered and organised. If I had my way the whole world would be labelled, catagorised and organised (but I have since found out not everyone shares my passion - lol).

I do love creating things like stamping, scrapbooking and sewing (got my L-plates on there though) and so leads me to tonights inspiration. I found some amazing craft rooms and storage solutions that encourage me to think about my new craft room/ office at the new house.
Like many people I practically froth at the mouth thinking about a trip to IKEA (or any container storage store) and having money to spend!!!!

However, my obsession isn't limited to craft rooms though. I love my linen press being organised like a store front and my clothes are always organised and colour coded (yes, even socks and jocks hehehe)! So where else do I go to find inspiration but none other than the world of Martha Stewart and Goodhousekeeping!!!!

I have also stumbled across a crowd on facebook called Complete Organizing Solutions who wrote an article about the cost (both time and money) of being disorganised. It reassured me that my quirkiness of being (over?)passionate about organisation is saving me both money and time! So, I am normal --- right????? :)

Enough to make me want a 3rd baby ;)

One of my favourite blogs Jack and Izzy, has been on a 'hiatus' whilst she settles with her new son Noah (ps Luuurve the name). She finally posted some pics of her GORGEOUS nursery. Which I fell in love with!!!! We are building our first house at the moment, and so since we have always rented when having babies, its enough to make me want a third baby so that I can do something like this!!!! JUST SOOOO PRECIOUS!!!!

INSPIRATION POINT: Decorating ideas

Although this room is a girls room (which is stunning) SO adaptable - I love the stripe on the wall and also the ikea furniture.....LOVE IKEA!!!!!

I Love the colours here and the canvases (i guess thats what they are) with the name. Loving stripes and polka dots at the moment, but its subtle, which i like!

The colour pallette here is so cool for boys and yet so modern!

I just love the big accent of the letter in this one.

Design dazzle is an amazing blog with AMAZING ideas for kids rooms of all ages and playrooms too.....makes you want to do something different and personalised in your kids rooms. It has been great for me to start dreaming about ways to decorate the boys rooms in our new place (that we will hopefully be in 6 months from now). Hope you are inspired to add some special touches to your place that give you that WOW factor and make you all smile!

INSPIRATION POINT: SusannahTucker Photography

Never fear - I do have a yummy recipe that I am waiting to 'test' cook later today (hard job-lol) so that I can post it, so more yummy's are on the way!

However, yesterday I stumbled across an absolute gem of a website - wish i had this at Christmas time. The site "
madeit.com" is an online market stall of random handmade goods from very talented Australian people. I found so many things that took my breath away and Susannah Tucker has done just that! I can't wait to buy some of her work to hang in our new house! I hope you enjoy Susannah Tucker Photography as much as i did. xo
